Abstract
The purpose of the research is to explore how climate change and environmental pollution influence leadership effectiveness. The paper also aims to identify what is the problem, and examine what leadership competencies and leadership styles are needed to address these issues. Literature indicates that conventional leadership cannot effectively deal with currently complex and interdisciplinary issues of environments. This research identified that environmental leadership, climate change leadership and sustainable leadership could be a solution. However, from long-term perspective, sustainable leadership could be a better approach towards environmental issues, because sustainable leadership model can cover their area besides their limitations. The applied methodology is critical literature review and case study based research. The paper contributes to understanding that sustainable leadership could be a leadership style which can
contribute to an effective mitigation of the influence of climate change and environmental pollution.
